Bungie actor Elias Toufexis has publicly criticized online negativity surrounding the studio's new game Marathon. He addressed players who spend hours posting memes that compare the title to previous failed projects like Concord.
Actor urges fans to stop posting memes comparing the new release to previous failures
Marathon launched on March 5 and received positive reviews from critics. The game currently struggles with player numbers when compared to Bungie's other major franchise, Destiny 2.
Toufexis urged fans to stop engaging in online hate campaigns directed at the new release. He argued that life is too short for people to dedicate hours to posting memes hoping for a game to fail.
Bungie recently announced that the Monument of Triumph update will be the final content drop for Destiny 2, scheduled for June 9, 2026. This announcement triggered review bombing of Marathon by Destiny fans who expressed disappointment over the older title's fate. A separate petition calling for a new Destiny game has already gathered more than 170,000 signatures.
