YouTube creator BoxingBruin has released a Nintendo 64 demake demo of Elden Ring. The project recreates key elements of FromSoftware's action RPG on retro hardware. Fans can experience the game using either real N64 consoles or PC emulation.
BoxingBruin shares a fan-made Nintendo 64 port featuring custom assets and Souls-like combat mechanics.
The demo runs on a custom 32-bit framebuffer system with distance-based sound effects. Graphics rely on 64×64 textures combined with vertex coloring for improved resolution. The project features Souls-like boss AI with multiple attack patterns and animations.
Players encounter real-time cinematic cutscenes and a character controller with lock-on mechanics. A weapon collision system handles combat interactions. All visual assets and music tracks were created from scratch for this port.
BoxingBruin shared the v0.65 release on GitHub for global download. The demo remains playable through the ARES emulator on personal computers as well as original N64 hardware.
