Take-Two Interactive has paused development of the Borderlands 4 port for Nintendo Switch 2. The company is focusing on optimizing the game for Steam first.
CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that he believes Borderlands 4 will run on the Switch 2, calling it 'doable.' However, the port is on hold while the team addresses challenges with the PC version.
Zelnick said, 'We've been addressing those challenges, and we want to make sure that we've fully addressed Borderlands 4 from a consumer's point of view before we bring it to more platforms.'
Gearbox has announced a 2026 content roadmap for Borderlands 4. The delay on Switch 2 suggests the game may arrive on Nintendo's next console after the initial launch.
