Video leak of what appears to be Mass Effect 5 gameplay has hit the internet. The big news is already breaking the internet with speculations on the future of the franchise. Reddit got the news with many fans excited for any news on Mass Effect's sequel that has been long overdue. It's important because it directly contradicts reports that have recently been reported, saying that Mass Effect 5 has been canceled.
Unverified video from former employee shows new protagonist and Liara
The video is a leak by an ex-BioWare employee. It's a video labeled "Mass Effect Universe." The video is about 2 minutes long. It shows a new main character.
As well as Liara from the original trilogy. This leak is important because this is visual proof that it's not true, like they said BioWare was closing down all together.
The leak video's validity cannot be confirmed at this time. It doesn't seem to be AI generated according to the source of the leak. It's also been reported by the same source that there were confirmations of Respawn and DICE collabs for Star Wars Battlefront 3, according to Electronic Arts.
Because it can't be verified we're taking these as unconfirmed rumors. Now, all the gaming world can do is wait to see if BioWare will respond to these leaks or if it's still a project in the works. Until the official word is given by the studio, it's all up in the air with Mass Effect 5.
