The version of Cult of the Lamb is out, offering a free upgrade to those who already have the game on the original console. This is important for the game because it means that we're getting upgraded visuals and performance for the game that has already proven its popularity on a multitude of platforms. And the upgrades can now be had by anyone who purchases the new hardware, so long as they already had the previous version.

Switch 2 owners get free upgrade with GameShare and improved frame rates

The Cult of the Lamb – 2 Edition was just released via the eShop by Devolver Digital and Massive Monster. The game itself first released on PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC (), and Apple Arcade. Now, we get the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, which gives the studio the opportunity to move onto the latest Nintendo hardware, but still keep its wide multi-platform focus.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Cult of the Lamb comes with improved resolution and frame rates. Plus, it has GameShare. All of these changes add up to a smoother and more defined experience on the new hardware in comparison to the original Switch version. Additionally, having GameShare means that it will be easier to get together with friends for multiplayer on the new hardware.

This is a free upgrade to the existing version of the game on Switch, so there is no additional purchase necessary if you already own it. When we wrote about the last Cult of the Lamb update, there were some overlapping themes of balance and stability. So this new version continues the trend of just making the game better for Nintendo owners specifically.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Cult of the Lamb is live on the Nintendo eShop for eligible folks now. So if you already have the game, then you get this upgrade for free, with the improved resolution and frame rates on the new console.
