The development of the unofficial PC port of Silent Hills P.T has been stopped. This update is significant for fans eager to experience the demo on modern systems. The development halt means that no further patches or additional features will be added to the port. The main reason behind the halt was excessive online harassment and even death threats, as stated by the creator of the port – LoreanXavier.
Developer LoreanXavier halts the unofficial PC port after facing severe online harassment
LoreanXavier revealed the halt of development due to the massive negative reaction from the community. It was clear that the toxicity from users was the main driver for the halt, not any legal issues from KONAMI. The port development went up to the 1.0.8 version – this will be the final version for the specific port.
The project faced controversy over the developer allegedly relying on AI for the debugging and coding processes. LoreanXavier addressed the use of AI in their statement to the community. The developer stressed that anyone can check the actual process through the open repository.
From now on, the focus is on Silent Hill 3 port for PC. The developer clearly mentioned that they are tired of explaining their standpoint on the P.T. port. There will be no further updates or patches for the Silent Hills P.T. PC port, except for the current version.
