Fast Travel Games is making co-op heist action truly immersive in VR with PAYDAY: Aces High. This launch is key for those who want to strategize with their friends and do it all while being immersed without the flat screen. It’s taking the series’ co-op dynamic and turning it into a first-person viewpoint in a world where details matter.
Fast Travel Games brings 4-player co-op heists to SteamVR and Quest
PAYDAY: Aces High is out November 5, for SteamVR and Meta Quest. Developed by Fast Travel Games and published by Starbreeze Entertainment. It’s all about that four-player co-op heist action. Players are gearing up and personalizing their character before each heist.
Chief Creative Officer & Co-Founder of Fast Travel Games, Erik Odeldahl, says recent playtests proved that the game is working as intended. They say that crews are communicating strategy and trying to salvage the day when stealth goes bad. Fine-tuning is happening before release to make sure the VR fantasy is real.
Starbreeze Entertainment CEO Adolf Kristjansson called Fast Travel Games the top VR studio out there. He says that their playtests provided player insights that went into the game. He says the developers know what makes PAYDAY tick and they took it and did expert things with it for the medium.
It’s launching worldwide at $24.99. We’ve been following it, even reporting on its Steam Frame handheld optimization. Now players can plan the strategy, manage their gear, and get the bags out with three buddies’ backs.
