Game Freak wraps up the active development of Beast of Reincarnation. That means the major update period for the game is over. Why is this important for the playerbase?
Game Freak shifts Beast of Reincarnation to bug-fix-only support after October 19
The reason is that the final major update will hit us on October 19, 2026. That is when Game Freak will stop providing major content for Beast of Reincarnation. From that point, they will just focus on essential bug fixes. Don't count on getting any major gameplay expansions or balance changes in the future.
Beast of Reincarnation originally came out for PC and consoles on August 4, 2026. The game has been reasonably well-received, scoring a 71 out of 100 on Metacritic for critic reviews. This is a middle-of-the-road score, meaning the game was okay but has some areas where it can be improved.
That's what this next update should help with. It will be the final say in the game as far as that goes. The end-all, be-all version of the game before the studio moves on to something else.
When October 19 rolls around, we'll get the final major content push for Beast of Reincarnation. It'll be more about stabilizing things and tweaking balance. While Game Freak will continue to support the game after its release, it'll be solely for critical bug fixes.
These are the issues that would render the game unplayable. That way, they can close out this development period and make sure players who are currently enjoying the game are still able to play it.
If you remember, the last Beast of Reincarnation update we covered was all about stability. We mentioned how it was all about fixing crashes. This upcoming patch seems to continue along those lines but now with a focus on deeper issues in gameplay. For those who have been hoping for the more polished version of the game, this will be your last opportunity to get the major developer touch.
