EA had to go back and roll back a progression change in Battlefield 6. They were basically artificially capping the XP you were gaining and it really annoyed people. So with all of the negative feedback they reverted back to the old progression rates. This was probably in response to the idea that EA was slowing things down to increase sales of a new shortcut item (a paid shortcut option)
EA fixes server error that slowed leveling speed
The net of this is to make it clear that the recent decrease in leveling speed was a bug and not part of some smart monetization scheme.
So it turns out that there was a server side config issue with the Season 5 update. This config change meant that you were only gaining about 300 XP per minute for experience points. Which was a big decrease in the normal progression rate. Of course EA admits to the issue and has a fix rolling out to get you back to the proper progression speed.
The reason people are skeptical about this is that the progression slowing down happened at the same time that the new $30 Ultimate Shortcut Kit was released. It gives you the ability to instant level up classes/weapons/equipment. So there was a lot of concern in the community that EA had intentionally lowered the free XP rate to make it seem like a better deal for the pay shortcut if you wanted to progress faster.
Anyway, EA made it clear that this reduction in XP gain was an unintended consequence of this server config issue. So they've reverted back to how things were before. So you can get back to your normal experience points rate of gain without having to spend any money on the shortcut kit.
