Secret Mode just released Star Wars: Galactic Racer on PC, and the benchmarks reveal a clear divide in hardware requirements. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5.7.4.0 with Lumen and Nanite, which demands significant processing power to maintain smooth frame rates. Buyers with mid-range graphics cards will find 1080p and 1440p gaming accessible, but those targeting 4K resolution face strict limitations. This performance gap means players need to carefully match their GPU to their desired resolution before buying.

RTX 4090 struggles with frame drops during intense scenes
The title relies on the latest Unreal Engine features to render its environments, which places a heavy load on the CPU and GPU. Our testing used an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D paired with 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz on Windows 10. We evaluated performance across a wide range of graphics cards, including AMD Radeon RX 6900XT, RX 7900XTX, and RX 9070XT. We also tested NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti, RTX 3080, RTX 4090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 to cover both older and newer architectures.
Performance at 1080p on Epic settings is generally strong, with almost all tested GPUs pushing over 60FPS. Even the older NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti managed an average of 64FPS, showing that entry-level cards can handle the base resolution. At 1440p, the top five GPUs in our test suite had no trouble maintaining over 60FPS on Epic settings. This suggests that most modern mid-range cards will provide a playable experience at this resolution without needing to lower graphics quality.
The game supports upscaling technologies including NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2.1 to help boost frame rates. However, native 4K performance remains challenging, with only the NVIDIA RTX 5090 able to hold a constant 60FPS on Epic settings. The RTX 4090 averaged 69FPS at native 4K but experienced drops down to 54FPS during intense scenes. This indicates that even high-end cards may need to rely on upscaling or lower settings to achieve stable 4K gameplay.

We previously looked at Ryzen 7 9800X3D Gaming while tracking Secret Mode launches, noting how memory speed impacts performance. That earlier analysis showed a 2% gain when moving from DDR5-4800 to DDR5-8000, highlighting the sensitivity of AMD CPUs to RAM configuration. While this new game does not explicitly test memory speeds, the consistent use of high-speed DDR5 in our benchmarks ensures we are not bottlenecking the CPU. Players with high-end AMD processors should ensure their RAM is configured for optimal speed to match the GPU's capabilities.
