Gearbox Software has released the 'Hallowed Concepts' DLC for Risk of Rain 2, adding significant new content for players seeking extended gameplay. This update introduces two fresh playable survivors and expands the game's lore through new story-driven challenges. Players who enjoy the base game's roguelike structure will find new objectives that test their skills against tougher enemies.
Gearbox Software adds Acolyte and Enforcer to the roguelike shooter
The expansion features two new characters: Acolyte and Enforcer. The Acolyte character specializes in summoning allies to assist the player, whereas the Enforcer employs powerful melee strikes and crowd control mechanics. These new characters introduce unique gameplay styles that expand upon the current selection of survivors.
New environments include the Damp Caverns, Tenebrous Quagmire, and The Lurid Basilica. The DLC also introduces Trials of N'kuhana, which are timed challenges that offer unique rewards for completion. Gearbox Publishing states that these trials allow players to uncover powers never before possible in Risk of Rain 2.
The content is available on PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. We previously tracked other software launches in the same domain, such as Arcade Archives Fighting Golf launches October, but this release stands on its own merits for Risk of Rain 2 fans.
