Peter Jackson’s King Kong for Xbox 360 now runs natively on PC, offering a playable alternative to the original console hardware. This unofficial port matters because it bypasses the emulation stutter that often blocks progress in the Xenia emulator. Players who struggled with the game freezing at the start of the first level can now access the full experience without workarounds.

Native Windows release bypasses emulator stutter for smoother gameplay
The project is a community-made port developed by the unofficial community, specifically TekRantGaming. It targets the Xbox 360 version of the film tie-in game and brings it to Windows systems. The port does not include any in-game assets, so users must supply their own Xbox 360 ISO file to play.
The port supports rendering at up to 8K resolution, defined as 7680×4320 pixels. It also removes the original 30 FPS frame rate cap, allowing players to set the speed to 240 FPS or leave it uncapped. This performance flexibility provides smoother gameplay than the original console release.
Input options include full keyboard and mouse support alongside standard controller compatibility. The port adds an Xbox 360-style achievement system featuring nine unlockable achievements with pop-ups and sounds. These features replicate the original console experience while adding modern PC input conveniences.
The port is available for global download from the TekRantGaming GitHub repository. There is no official pricing or release date from a commercial vendor since this is an unofficial release. The community release stands as the primary method to play this specific Xbox 360 title on PC without emulation barriers.
