SAPPHIRE releases rare firmware update for all RDNA 3 Radeon RX 7000 Series GPUs
The update targets all RDNA 3 models sold under the SAPPHIRE brand. It covers the PULSE, PURE, and NITRO+ product lines. Specific models include the RX 7600 XT, RX 7650 GRE, RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7900 GRE, RX 7900 XT, and RX 7900 XTX.

Users must install the update using the AMD Radeon Firmware Updater tool. The tool requires administrator privileges to write to the GPU firmware. You can verify the installed version through AMD Adrenalin Software after the installation completes.
SAPPHIRE did not disclose the specific security flaws this update resolves. The company stated only that it addresses a security improvement found with AMD. We do not yet know if this change affects GPU performance or custom tuning settings.
No firmware update is available for RDNA 2 or RDNA 4 (RX 9000 Series) models. This release is limited strictly to the RDNA 3 architecture. Owners of older or newer generations do not need to take action.
