PC gamers looking for a gentler entry into the bullet hell genre have a new option coming in 2027. The release of Kaguya offers a vertical-scrolling shooter experience that prioritizes accessibility without sacrificing the core mechanics of the genre. This launch allows players to engage with enemy waves using bombs and power shots while following a narrative supported by full voice acting.
Accessible vertical shooter arrives on Steam next year
Flypot.LLC developed Kaguya, while AMATA Games handles the publishing duties. The game invites players to control two characters, Akari Mikado and Akane Hiiragi, as they navigate through the action. The developers designed the title to be friendly for beginners by implementing a gentler difficulty curve compared to traditional entries in the genre.
Kaguya features three distinct difficulty modes: Normal, Hard, and Hell. Players will battle through six planned stages to take down waves of enemies attacking from all directions. The game includes a Library Mode that allows users to review dialogue, complementing the full voice acting present in the game.
We expect this release to provide a structured path for newcomers to learn bullet hell mechanics. The combination of voice acting and a library mode adds narrative depth to the gameplay loop. The game is scheduled to launch on Steam in 2027, giving players a clear timeline for when they can access the title.
