Pearl Abyss released Patch 1.04.00 for the action role-playing game Crimson Desert on April 23, 2026. The update introduces new difficulty settings and character skills to the global player base across PC, console, and Mac platforms.
Players can now select from Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty modes through the Settings menu. The patch also adds new housing storage items, including the Sturdy Gatherables Chest with 1,000 slots and the Enhanced Kuku Cooler with 330 slots. Wardrobes provide 100 storage slots per unit, with a maximum total capacity of 1,000 slots.

The update expands the pet roster by adding birds and five new types of cat pets. It also improves the Abyss Heuklang so that it can function as a pet. For the Kliff class, the patch introduces two new one-handed weapons named Tree Branch and Sturdy Tree Branch.
New armor options include the Baltheon armor outfit for the Kliff class. The update improves the visual quality of characters at long distances and enhances hair lighting in shaded areas. Rendering quality for distant objects and textures also receives improvements.

Graphics performance benefits from enhanced support for AMD FSR Ray Regeneration, Intel XeSS 3.0, and Intel XeSS Frame Gen. Mac users gain access to a new MetalFX Denoising Upscaler option in the video settings. The patch addresses numerous stability and gameplay bugs to improve overall performance.
