EmuDeck version 2.7 is now available for SteamOS, Linux, and Windows users who manage emulation setups on their devices. This update matters because it simplifies the installation process for new platforms and adds critical compatibility features for retro gaming. Users no longer need to manually configure complex settings to get the software running on emerging operating systems.
EmuDeck 2.7 simplifies ArmadaOS installation and adds ARMSX2 PS2 emulation
The most significant change in this release is the support for ArmadaOS, a platform designed for ARM-based devices. EmuDeck Early Access now runs on ArmadaOS out of the box without requiring extra configuration steps. The tool uses ARMSX2 for PlayStation 2 emulation on this platform instead of the traditional PCSX2 emulator.
Technical improvements include the integration of the newest RetroAchievements API, which adds support for the Dolphin emulator. The update also adds resolution selectors for PPSSPP, Xemu, Vita3K, Azahar, and PrimeHack. These changes allow users to adjust visual output for specific titles without editing configuration files manually.
SteamOS and Linux users benefit from automatic controller setup for up to four players. The update also sets default resolutions to 1080p or 4K for supported systems. Windows users receive fixes for the EmuDeck Compressor and issues with explorer.exe cache resets.
EmuDeck version 2.7 is now available for download on supported platforms. The update brings immediate usability improvements for ArmadaOS users and enhances controller support for multi-player setups on Linux and SteamOS.
