Escape from Tarkov servers crash after event launch, Battlestate blames external infrastructure

Players trying to log into Escape from Tarkov faced sudden server disconnections and login failures after the launch of a special in-game event. The outage disrupted access for many users during a period designed to reward gameplay with accelerated progress. The incident underscores the infrastructure difficulties that often arise during significant updates for persistent online games.

Connectivity issues disrupted access during the high XP event

Battlestate Games, the developer behind the tactical shooter, clarified that the connectivity issues did not stem from the game code or the event mechanics themselves. The studio attributed the disruptions to network infrastructure problems that occurred outside their direct control. Battlestate Games clarified that the connectivity problems stemmed from external network infrastructure issues rather than flaws in the game code or the event itself.

The event itself offered significantly boosted experience points for player-versus-player activities to encourage engagement. Participants earned 600 experience points for eliminating a PMC, a substantial increase from the standard 120 points. The bonus also applied to Scav eliminations, which granted 110 experience points compared to the usual 55, and picking up a PMC dogtag awarded 200 points instead of 20.

These increased experience coefficients remained active until October 5 at 12:00 PM Moscow time. The event has now concluded, and the game has reverted to standard settings. Support crate content and drop frequency on the Lighthouse map have returned to their previous values. Players can still obtain documents for the Kord Breach battle pass through operational tasks until the season ends.
