Blizzard producer Matt Cederquist has signaled strong interest in bringing Solo Self-Found (SSF) mode to Diablo II: Resurrected. Such a feature would respond to a persistent community desire for a specific playstyle that many players view as vital to the game's long-term appeal. Players who prefer creating characters without trading or forming parties would gain access to a dedicated competitive environment.

Team identifies specific items for rebalancing to support solo playstyle
Cederquist highlighted that Diablo II offers a unique foundation for SSF compared to other titles in the series. He noted that the game already has a specific player base interested in this mode and online ladder racing. The developer previously implemented SSF in Diablo 3, demonstrating a willingness to support this community-driven feature across their franchise.
The development team is actively identifying items for potential rebalancing to support such a mode. They have singled out unique items and specific runewords, including Mosaic, Spirit, and Stealth, for review. These changes seek to provide a more balanced and engaging experience for solo players interacting with the game's economy and combat systems.
There is currently no official announcement regarding a dedicated UI or framework for SSF in Diablo II: Resurrected. Cederquist admitted that it is unclear if the game will receive updates to serve this mode specifically. The Reign of the Warlock expansion is believed to have sold well for Blizzard, providing a stable base for future development decisions.
Cederquist summarized the team's perspective on the feature request. He stated, "We added solo self-found into Diablo 3," Cederquist said. "Diablo 2 is a really good place for a solo self-found because you have specific player bases that do want to do that players 8, online ladder race. I think it's awesome."
