Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind the Batman: Arkham series, secretly co-developed the upcoming Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight with TT Games. The collaboration is revealed in the game's credits, according to VGC.
Rocksteady's 24 developers worked on the game.
Twenty-four developers from Rocksteady worked on the project, including a designer, a producer, and several senior programmers and artists. Warner Bros. Games Montreal, which worked on Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights, also contributed. The game features an open-world Gotham City with combat inspired by the Arkham series.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches on May 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for a later date.
Jonathan Smith, head of development at TT Games, said the team was inspired by Rocksteady's work on Arkham Asylum's combat system. He noted that Rocksteady's achievements in bringing Batman's combat style to life serve as the basis for the game's modern experience.
VGC reported the co-development credit. Warner Bros. Games has not commented on the collaboration.
