Disney Dreamlight Valley players will soon explore a new underwater region called The Keepsake Sea. This expansion adds a fresh biome that changes how players interact with the game world. Gameloft is introducing this content as the fourth paid expansion for the title. Buyers who enjoy collecting characters and decorating their homes will find new goals to pursue.

Gameloft unveils new characters and underwater mechanics for November release

The update centers on an underwater biome that players can access through a new mermaid transformation. Gameloft confirmed that the expansion releases globally in November. The developer is hosting a showcase stream on October 21 to reveal more details. Players can expect to spend time swimming and building in this submerged environment.

Gameloft is adding three new unlockable characters to the roster. Players can meet Meg from Hercules, Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, and Milo from Atlantis: The Lost Empire. The studio also introduced quality of life improvements to streamline gameplay. Players can now automatically collect fish while swimming on the surface. A vertical elevation feature allows builders to move structures up or down.

The underwater area presents unique travel mechanics for visitors. Gameloft stated that characters who do not thrive in water must use submarines to explore the region. Only specific characters like Ariel or Ursula can naturally swim in this biome. This design choice separates water-adapted characters from those that require mechanical transport. The expansion focuses on expanding the game's world and character roster.

The Keepsake Sea expansion brings a new underwater biome to Disney Dreamlight Valley. Gameloft will release the content globally in November following the October 21 stream. Players can unlock Meg, Jack Sparrow, and Milo while using new building and fishing tools. The developer confirmed that non-swimming characters will navigate the area using submarines.
