Revised console simplifies maintenance with standard screws
The revised unit, identified as the Switch 2 V2, is currently available in Europe. It retains the same $499 price point as the original model sold on Amazon. The internal redesign focuses on simplifying access to the power source, which is the component that wears out fastest in handheld gaming devices.

Nintendo replaced the hidden fasteners of the original model with standard Philips head screws. Users can now access the battery by removing only the back cover, eliminating the need to dismantle metal shielding. The company plans to release official tools and replacement battery kits to support this new design. An official repair guide will also be published to ensure users do not accidentally void their warranty during the replacement process.
