Rockstar Games has officially confirmed NoPixel V, a major update to the popular Grand Theft Auto V roleplay server. This partnership marks a shift for the community, as the server moves from independent operation to direct collaboration with the game's publisher. Observers are monitoring the situation to understand how the official partnership will affect server regulations and stability.

Closed beta limited to 450 invited creators and roleplayers

The announcement arrived on September 1 with a trailer that showcased the new version. Rockstar Games is partnering with the NoPixel team to bring this update to life. The company also noted that its 2023 acquisition of the FiveM framework team paved the way for this deeper integration. Existing servers like NoPixel Public and NoPixel 4.0 will continue to run alongside the new version.

A Twitch Drops campaign is running from September 8 through September 30 to promote the launch. Viewers can earn up to GTA$1.5 million in-game cash and a Burger Shot Tracksuit cosmetic by watching. The Twitch Drops initiative encourages viewer engagement by distributing in-game currency and cosmetic items.

Access to the new features is currently restricted to a closed beta phase. The invite list is limited to roughly 450 content creators and established roleplayers. Koil, a key figure in the NoPixel community, described the rollout as a genuine reset and a fresh start for the whitelist. Restricting the beta to approximately 450 participants helps manage server capacity during the launch phase.

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the NoPixel V partnership, concluding previous uncertainty regarding the server's status. Rockstar Games has moved from passive observation to active partnership with the NoPixel team. The integration of official support and viewer rewards marks a significant development for the Grand Theft Auto roleplay community.
