Sony has released the ULT Tower Max, the largest speaker in its ULT series, targeting listeners who need serious volume for large gatherings. This 1-meter tower delivers 2,150 watts of power to fill a room with sound without breaking a sweat. Buyers looking for a centerpiece for outdoor parties or large indoor events now have a dedicated high-output option.

Sony's largest ULT speaker ships with 2,150 watts of output power

The speaker features a robust driver array designed for full-range audio reproduction. It includes three 280-millimeter woofers, two 120-millimeter midrange drivers, and four tweeters ranging from 25 to 40 millimeters. Sony designed the system to deliver 360-degree sound that automatically adapts to the surroundings using built-in microphones.

Specifications

  • Total Output Power: 2,150 watts
  • Woofers: 3 x 280mm
  • Midrange Drivers: 2 x 120mm
  • Tweeters: 4 x 25-40mm
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3, RCA, XLR

Physical dimensions highlight the sheer scale of the unit, measuring 106 x 53.4 x 47.2 centimeters. It weighs 56.3 kilograms, making it a permanent fixture rather than a portable companion. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3 with support for AAC, SBC, and Sony LDAC codecs. RCA and XLR inputs are also available for wired connections.

The ULT Tower Max carries a suggested retail price of 1499 USD (around $1,499). It became available globally starting on September 17th, 2024. The speaker is splash-proof, offering some protection against accidental spills during use. We looked at other large-format audio gear earlier while tracking Sony's ULT lineup expansion.
