Original Switch continues to receive support
The original Switch has sold nearly 156 million units. The Switch 2 has sold almost 20 million units. Furukawa emphasized a gradual transition, encouraging players to upgrade at their own pace.
Furukawa stated, "I believe it is important that we consider how to expand the entire software business, including titles for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, instead of focusing only on sales of Nintendo Switch 2 software." He also said Nintendo wants to "encourage people to transition to Nintendo Switch 2 at their own pace" and plans to "increase the Nintendo Switch 2 installed base over the medium to long term."
