Aspyr Media released a new patch for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered on August 20, and it adds new graphical features and a ton of bug fixes. This update matters because it improves visual clarity and stability for players on multiple platforms. The changes directly affect how you interact with the game's core environments and items.
Patch 1.13 improves visibility and stability across platforms
The patch, identified as version 1.13/1.001.003, targets the remastered collection of the original trilogy. It introduces a brightness slider that allows players to adjust the brightness of any level across all three games. This feature gives users more control over visibility in darker or overexposed scenes.
Performance and visibility improvements include 60 FPS support in Classic Graphics Mode. The framerate is now 60 fps in Classic, providing smoother gameplay for those who prefer the retro visual style. Additionally, key items Lara can pick up are now brighter and more visible in HD Graphics Mode, making inventory management easier.
The update fixes several specific technical issues that previously hindered progress. It addresses a clipping issue in Natla’s Mines where the character could pass through the boat. A UI bug that hid harpoon gun ammo counts is also resolved, along with a physics issue in the Living Quarters where Lara remained hanging in the air. Visual rendering flickering for boulders in Tomb of Tihocan and a softlock in Highland Fling are fixed as well. On PC, an audio popping issue in the Aldwych level is corrected, and Android users see a fix for crashes that occurred when proceeding to a level after launching the title. We looked at the last Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered update earlier while tracking similar stability improvements.
