Game Science has released a 15-minute gameplay trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, marking the second title in the Black Myth series following Black Myth: Wukong. This update gives players a concrete look at the studio's next single-player action role-playing game. Buyers waiting for the studio's follow-up can now see the new protagonist in motion. The footage confirms the game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and is currently in early development.
Game Science shares early PC footage of the upcoming action RPG
The new game centers on Zhong Kui, a figure from Chinese folklore. It serves as a spiritual successor to the previous hit title. The trailer shows the protagonist navigating the game world in a work-in-progress build. This early look allows fans to gauge the visual direction before the final product ships.
The gameplay footage was captured from a PC version of the game. It runs at a 21:9 aspect ratio, which suits ultrawide monitors. The author notes that Zhong Kui appears to have better animations than Black Myth: Wukong. The game is confirmed as a single-player action role-playing game.
There is still no release date for when this new Black Myth game will come out. Game Science has not even launched a store page for this game on Steam or the Epic Games Store. The final release may also differ from what we see here. We looked at the original Black Myth: Wukong earlier while tracking Game Science launches.
