Nintendo Switch owners playing Ark: Survival Evolved have a clear deadline to wrap up their online multiplayer sessions. Studio Wildcard confirmed that the official servers for the game on this platform will shut down on August 31, 2026. This date applies to both the original 2018 port and the 2022 version rebuilt by Grove Street Games. Players who rely on official matchmaking will need to switch to alternative methods before that final day.

The studio released a statement expressing regret over the decision to end support for these specific servers. They noted that single-player offline mode remains fully available for anyone who owns the game. This means the core survival experience continues without interruption for solo players. Multiplayer functionality, however, shifts entirely away from the company's managed infrastructure.
Owners of the title can still connect with friends and other communities through unofficial private servers. These community-run servers operate independently of the official shutdown schedule. The game client itself does not require the official servers to launch or run in offline mode. This distinction ensures that the software remains functional even after the official network cuts.
The company clarified that no similar plans exist for the official servers on other gaming platforms. The shutdown is isolated strictly to the Nintendo Switch ecosystem. This leaves PC and PlayStation users with continued access to the official online infrastructure. Switch players retain the ability to host or join private communities as long as those servers remain active.
