Electronic Arts has announced a major update for Battlefield 6 that arrives on May 12. The patch focuses heavily on vehicle performance and aims to address player feedback regarding the moment-to-moment combat experience. Chris Matte from DICE stated that while vehicles are balanced statistically, the actual feel of strengths and drawbacks in battle needs improvement.
The update simplifies the damage model for vehicles to create more predictable outcomes. Health pools will take longer to regenerate out of combat but regain faster once action kicks in. Repair mechanisms lose their efficacy over time as intended by the developers. Guided weapons will deal more consistent levels of damage against contact targets.
Control and responsiveness have been addressed with changes to turret rotation speed and base acceleration values. Players sitting in sky vehicles will now see new UI indicators that help them better identify incoming threats. These changes are designed to give players the tools and confidence to take calculated risks and play a more active role on the battlefield.
The patch is available globally starting May 12 as part of Season 3 for Battlefield 6. Electronic Arts has not confirmed specific pricing details for this update or any associated content. The changes reflect a commitment to improving the live game experience based on community feedback.
