Unknown Worlds has announced that Subnautica 2 is now Verified. The game achieves a solid 30 frames per second on the handheld when using low graphical presets.

Optimized for Unreal Engine 5

The sequel runs on Unreal Engine 5. The developer had to optimize the game to reach playable performance on the Deck. Higher frame rates may be possible by enabling upscalers and adjusting settings further.

Unknown Worlds described the 30 FPS target as "solid" with low presets. The verification confirms that the game is compatible with the Steam Deck's controls and display.

The developer has not confirmed a release date or pricing for Subnautica 2. More details about the game's launch are expected in the future.
