Square Enix released a new gameplay trailer for FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, giving players a closer look at the upcoming RPG. This update matters because it confirms the game is a full-scale experience rather than a mobile port, expanding the original mobile title into a dedicated console and PC release. Buyers following the franchise can now see how the classic mechanics translate to modern hardware.

Square Enix expands mobile RPG into full PC and console experience

The title serves as a 2D-HD RPG based on the first story arc of FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius. It features pixel-style 3D characters that blend retro aesthetics with modern rendering techniques. The game brings familiar elements like airships, crystals, espers, and moogles into this new visual style.

Combat in RESONANCE relies on a turn-based system with stagger mechanics and Resonance attacks. Players can summon Visions, which are echoes of famous heroes, to strengthen their party during battles. The PC version of the game will utilize Denuvo anti-tamper technology to protect the software.

Square Enix will release FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE on October 26 for PC and consoles. The game is available globally on this date. We looked at the last FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up.

The release marks the official launch of the expanded RPG after the recent trailer showcase. Players can expect the confirmed turn-based combat and 2D-HD visuals on the specified platforms.
