Asus ROG Gladius IV Ace and Spatha X 65K mice launch with 8K polling

Asus is updating its ROG gaming mouse lineup with two new models that prioritize speed and precision for competitive players. The ROG Gladius IV Ace and ROG Spatha X 65K bring significant hardware upgrades that address common complaints about sensor limits and wireless latency. These changes matter because higher polling rates and lighter weights directly reduce input delay, giving users a tangible edge in fast-paced games.

New ROG mice bring 8K polling rates and 65K DPI sensors to gamers

The ROG Gladius IV Ace serves as the lighter, faster option in this generation. It replaces the previous 19,000 DPI sensor with the AimPoint Pro 65K, which supports up to 65,000 DPI for extreme precision. Asus also increased the polling rate from 1,000 Hz to 8,000 Hz using ROG SpeedNova Gen II technology. This shift ensures the mouse reports its position to the computer eight times faster than standard wireless mice.

Spec comparison

Weight reduction is a major focus for the Gladius IV Ace, which weighs just 56 grams without its stackable weights. This is a substantial drop from the 89-gram Gladius III, making it easier to flick and control during long sessions. The mouse features optical micro switches for durability and six programmable buttons. It also includes 100% PTFE feet to ensure smooth gliding across mousepads.

The ROG Spatha X 65K offers a different form factor with tri-mode connectivity and customizable weights. It uses the same AimPoint Pro 65K sensor but upgrades the switch mechanism to ROG Micro Switch II. Asus also introduced ROG Push-Fit Switch Socket III, which allows users to replace switches more easily than before. Both mice support web-driver customization through ROG Gear Link, simplifying configuration for users.

Asus plans to make both mice available globally starting at the end of September. Customers can purchase them through the official Asus online store and Best Buy. The company has not yet shared pricing for either device, so buyers should check retail listings closer to the launch date. The new models offer high-specification features for wireless mice in the mid-range segment.
