SwitchBot has launched the Lock Vision series, which it claims is the world's first smart deadbolt lock with 3D structured-light facial recognition. The lock projects over 20,000 infrared points to create millimeter-level facial maps and can unlock a door in under one second.
Multiple unlock methods and long battery life
The Lock Vision series offers multiple unlock methods, including palm vein, fingerprint, NFC, app, voice, and geofencing. It is powered by a 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery rated for approximately 12 months of use. The lock has an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance and supports Matter-over-Wi-Fi for smart home integration.
The Lock Vision Pro is priced at 229.99 USD (about $230) in the US and 299.99 CAD (about $219) in Canada. The standard Lock Vision costs 169.99 USD (about $170) in the US and 229.99 CAD (about $168) in Canada. Both models are available for purchase via SwitchBot's official website and Amazon.
SwitchBot positions the Lock Vision series as a security upgrade for smart homes, combining facial recognition with multiple backup entry methods. The company has not confirmed whether the lock will launch in other regions beyond the US and Canada.
